Special opportunity

There is a special opportunity for 25 teams to attend the Human Research Program (HRP) Investigators Workshop (IWS) in January 2025 in Galveston Tx.  Students will be expected to present their project on January 28th from 4:15-5:45 pm and on January 29th from 2:30-4:00 pm.  Galveston Island Convention Center - 5600 Seawall Blvd, Galveston, TX 77551

​The Project Manager for this program will be reviewing all of the projects at PDR (preliminary competition) and will make decisions on who to invite to this conference.  Students will present their projects and have the opportunity to see and listen to other research projects from University and other Government entities.  Reviewers will be HRP flight surgeons, scientists and Engineers.

The finalists chosen will be invited to come to Houston and show their projects to our Flight surgeons, Human Research performance group, and other ISS scientists and engineers.  This final will be held on April 9 2025 at Rocket Park, Space Center Houston


As we look to the future of colonization on Moon and Mars, we must consider the physiological changes that happen to humans in space and find ways to mitigate those changes.  

This NASA HUNCH program gives students a way to think outside of the box and create solutions to some of these problems we are facing.

Use the Google Map of the International Space Station to help you as you design your projects to see how things are set up in space station.  This will be a very helpful tool during your project.  (Notice there are HUNCH designed items with patches on many of the items on the space station!)
